Russian-Syrian born mezzo Elena Gabouri studied at the St-Petersburg National conservatoire under Tamara Novichenko (teacher of Anna Netrebko); at the Paris National conservatoire; then at the Cortot Paris School (Ecole Normale) with Isabel Garcisanz, where she won the Singing Prize Unanimous with Congratulations of Jury (2007); and with the mezzo soprano Magali Damonte. She learns the parts with Gabriel Bacquier, Janine Reiss, Sylvain Souret…

 Among her internationals prizes: 2nd Prize  of 2011 Ramfis Competition; First Prize (unanimous) at the 2005 Arles Singing Competition (opera); the Best Female Singer Prize (Grand Prix) at the 2004 Vivonne Singing Competition; 2nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2004 Catalan Singing Competition; The Jury Prize at the 2003 Corsica Singing Competetion (Canari). She was a Finaliste at the 2005 Singing Competitions of Marseille and Marmande (France).             

                           She has lived in Paris since 2001.

 Seasons 2010/11/12: Kabanicha (Janacek Katia Kabanova) at Theater "Bouffes du Nord" at Paris, after in Rotterdam; Amneris cover (Verdi Aida) with Ramfis Production; revival of Verdi Requiem with the Colonne Orchestra in Paris; revival of Stabat Mater of Rossini and Pergolesi; Gloria of Vivaldi; recitals at Saint-Liziers and Arles Festivals; Counod concert at the festivale "Pezenas

Seasons 2008/09/10: Zia Principessa (Puccini Sister Angelica) and Bobylikha (Rimsky-Korsakov          The Snow Maiden) at Wexford Festival (Ireland); Madame de la Haltière (Massenet Cinderella) at Massy Opera; Beethoven's 9 Symphony in Nantes;  Mozart Requiem at Massy Opera; Little Solemn Mass and Stabat Mater of Rossini; Pergolesi Stabat Mater at Marseille Opera.

Seasons2006/07/08: Marfa (The Rothschild’s Violin by Fleishmann) with The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra; Siegrune (Wagner's Die Walküre) at Opera de Marseille, Aksinia (Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mzensk) at Geneva Opera, Verdi Requiem in Paris with the Bel'Arte Orchestra; Fenena (Verdi's Nabucco ) for the Paris Lyric Academy; Rossini Stabat Mater at Opera de Marseille, many recitals.

 

During 2005/06 seasons, Elena Gabouri was The Mother, The Dragonfly and The Chinese Cup (Ravel's L'Enfant et les Sortilèges) for the European Opera Centre in Liverpool, Greece and Cyprus; Irma (the central role) in Peter Eötvös's Le Balcon at the Operas of Besançon and of Dijon; Miss Baggott (Let's Make an Opera by Britten).

 

Seasons 2001/02 in St-Petersburg, Elena Gabouri sang Concepcion (L'heure espagnole by Ravel) and, in France, Carmen with the Evreux Orchestra.

 

Seasons 1997/98/99: as a member of the troupe of the Comic Opera of St-Petersburg, she sang the roles of Czadas Princess and Countess Mariza in Kalman's operettas plus many secondary roles.

 

Elena Gabouri worked with conductors like Alexander Lazarev, Vasily Petrenko, Friedrich Player, Laurent Pillot, Dmitri Jurowski, Pierre-Michel Durand; Jacques Chalmeau, Stéphane Petitjean, Michel Piquemal, Dominique Rouits, Francis Bardot and with directors like André Engel, Nicolas Brieger, Charles Roubaud, Bernard Rozet, Elena Tzavara, Nadine Duffaut, John Fulljames…

 

Under the baton of Vassily Petrenko, Elena Gabouri recorded the CD of Fleishmann's The Rothshild's Violin.
